Bob recovering in hospital...
Many have asked about Bob and his knee replacement. Word directly from Phyllis and the Wilsons (Worth and Pat) is that Bob had a good day today. Yesterday was not so great. He was asked to be at the hospital by 7:30 AM for his scheduled 9:30 AM procedure. They finally took him back at 12:30 for a long surgery. Then it was a slow process coming back from the drugs and a bad night. But today he woke up feeling good. Even walked to the door with help of a walker. He may even be coming home Friday.
Word from all of the MGA Bob.....get back out here. We miss you. Thank you Worth and Pat for watching out for our friends.

| Ugly...But Still an Eagle
Jim Simpson didn't say it was pretty...not even easy to look at. But there is a back story. Playing with Mikey, Dave and Orlowski Friday on the River we passed the "controlled burn" area at # 13. Not one to waste a chance to find a ball Jim didn't care that the ProVI he found had endured the burn and looked more like a roasted marshmellow. When he parred # 13 he even began to like the toasted ball. Then he teed off on # 14 (behind clubhouse) to 138 yards out behind the bunker.
Out came his 7 iron that he scorched over the sand, never getting above the ground by more than a foot, the last 50 yards on the ground. It was speeding toward the green in what looked like a chance to reach the lake across the cart path. However, the burnt ball hit the ridge around the sprinkler head, took a big bounce up and landed a few feet from the hole....and rattled the pin for an UGLY EAGLE!!!!!
Scorecards don't have pictures! Mark down a 2!!!!! After 2 holes with the burnt ball Jim was a nifty 2 under. The Moral of the Story: Being Cheap Pays

The "Charlie Schaeffer Plaque" in honor of his spectacular Double Eagle on # 13 River and on the right...view of the green from where he shot it.
Looks like an easy shot...if I could only see the green from here!
